“On february 27th, 2010, the people of Chile went through and still endures the consequences of one of the worse earthquakes in human History.
In front of this situation, the design community can’t remain indifferent. That’s how Design for Chile is born.
The objective of Design for Chile is, at a first level, to raise funds to be donated to entities that are helping rebuild the country, and also, to unify the different actions and initiatives being made by the design world for Chile.
At this very moment our staff is contacting different designers and groups, both national and international, asking for their support and the donation of custom made prints that will be sold in our website. After that, all profits will be donated to help Chile in the best way possible.
As a final phase of our project, Design for Chile is putting together an exhibition (date to be confirmed), where all donated pieces will be displayed alongside several chilean design objects and a constant fund raise will be held.
Also, since we understand that many will want to take part in our project, we will hold an international open call for posters. All pieces submitted will take part in our exhibition, however, 15 of them will be chosen and added to our international store, side by side with all of our guests. You can download the brief here.

El 27 de Febrero de 2010, la gente de Chile atravesó y sigue viviendo las consecuencias de uno de los peores terremotos en su Historia.
Frente a esta situación, la comunidad de diseñadores no puede mantenerse al margen.
Diseño por Chile nace de la reacción de la comunidad de diseñadores ante la devastadora tragedia por la que atravesó nuestro país y tiene por objetivo coordinar las diferentes acciones que los diseñadores tomaremos para solidarizar con nuestro pueblo.
Esta coordinación significa darle vitrina y promoción a cualquier evento que primordialmente sea generado desde la comunidad de diseñadores con el fin de generar cualquier tipo de cooperación con la catástrofe recién pasada.
Nuestra plataforma se expande a través de los diseñadores para el pueblo de Chile, no obstante, es evidente que no es necesario ser puntualmente diseñador
para aportar en esta situación, en consecuencia, Diseño Por chile pretende ser una organización que manifieste la voluntad de una comunidad en particular como son los diseñadores de Chile.
El breve objetivo de la plataforma es consolidarse como el ente organizador y compilador de cualquier tipo de ayuda que nazca de la comunidad de diseño.
También, a breve plazo, hemos decidido organizar un evento de caridad / exposición con diversas piezas donadas por figuras relacionadas al Diseño en todas
sus variantes y de todos los rincones del mundo.
